System Parameters

Systems configuration allows administrators to configure connections with different third-party systems. It stores the connection details of different systems and helps to communicate with these systems.

Below are the different types of connections which can be set up from this section:

Connection  type  Description
SMTP  Used to setup SMTP connection. This will be further used by MDO to trigger email notifications to different users.
SAP  Used to setup SAP ECC connection. This connection will further help to push data to SAP from MDO. This is mainly used to trigger IDocs.
FTP  Used to communicate with third party systems using FTP folder, xml and flat files are dropped into the FTP folder. This is later picked by the target system to process data.
SFTP  Used to communicate with third party systems using SFTP (Secure FTP) folder. Xml and flat files are dropped into the SFTP folder, which is later picked by the target system to process data.
SMS  Used to set up SMS server. This will be further used by MDO system to trigger SMS alerts to users.
IS  This option is used to setup a connection between MDO and an Integration server. Generally, MDO integration layer acts like an integration server for integration.
Database  This option stores third party Database connection details. MDO can further use the details to authenticate with the third-party database to push data.
Webservice  This connection is used to process data using webservices. The authentication user id and password are maintained in connections which are further used by webservices during integration.
MDO  MDO connection is used to communicate or process data between two MDO systems. This connection can also be used to send transports between two different MDO systems i.e. from DEV to QA to PROD
SF  This connection is used to communicate between MDO and Salesforce.

SMTP

Whenever any data gets created or updated, MDO triggers emails to different users responsible to perform the task. SMTP connection is configured in MDO to enable email notifications on different events.
