Menus

A menu is a set of options presented to a user to find or record information. Menus are created based on a role’s requirements. When assigned to a role a menu provides a user with defined access to the application.

To create a menu, follow these steps: 

  1. Click on the Settings icon at top right corner on the Home page. 
  2. From the left menu bar, select Advanced 
  3. Select Menu > Add New Menu 
  4. The Add New Menu pop up box appears with the following fields: 
Field name  Details 
Name  Enter the valid name for menu 
Language  This defaults to English. 
MobileApp Menu  Check this option if you want to view the menu on the mobile app. 
Application Menu  Check this option if you want to add already existing menu(s) to the current menu 

     5. Click Save. After saving the menu, the system will open a menu designing page where the menu requirements can be added. 

     6. Right click on Dashboard Menu. This will open various options which can be used for menu designing. Some of these include:

  • Add Module from List: Using this option, you can directly assign existing modules to your menu.  
    • Select option Add Module from ListThis will open the list of all the modules available in the system. Select the module(s) and click Done.  
    • The order of the modules can be set by dragging and dropping the modules.
  •  Add URL: Using this option, you can add URL’s to the menu.  
    •  Select option Add URL. This will open the Add Hyperlink popup where the following information is required: 
      • Link NameEnter a name 
      • Link URL:Enter a valid URL 
      • New-Icon: You can upload a new icon for the menu item. The icon size should not be more than 140kb and should be only in .JPEG or .PNG format. 
    • Click Save to save details. 
  • Add Report: Using this option, you can assign an MDO report to the menu.  
    • Select option Add Report. This will open the Add Report popup where the following information is required: 
      • Report NameEnter a name 
      • Report URL:Provide valid MDO report URL 
      • Icon: You can upload a new icon for the menu item. The icon size should not be more than 140kb and should be only in .JPEG or .PNG format. 
    • Click Save to save details. 
  • Add Video: Using this option, you can assign a video Link to the menu.  
    • Select option Video. This will open the Add Video popup where the following information is required: 
      • Description: Provide some name to your menu item.
      • URL: Provide valid video URL.
      • File: You can upload a new icon for the menu item. The icon size should not be more than 140kb and should be only in .JPEG or .PNG format. 
    • Click Save to save details. 
  •  Set As default 

This option allows you to set a menu item as default. Whenever a user logs into the system, instead of going to the Home page, the system will open the menu item which is marked as Default.

  •  Change 

This option provides the flexibility to make changes in existing menu items. Depending upon the menu item the system will display different set of fields as stated in the table below: 

Field  Description 
Description  The Menu item name can be changed using this field. 
Change Icon  Change the change icon on the menu. You can select any icon from the existing icon repository. 
New – Icon  Change the ‘new’ icon on the menu. Using this option, an icon can be uploaded from a desktop. 
Link URL  Helps user to change a URL. This is applicable for menu type URL, video, report. 
Help URL   Users can add help links to modules which can be accessed by the web application from their assigned menu. 

      7. Once the changes are complete click Save to update details. 

  • Remove Module 

If a module is no longer in use than this option enables it to be removed from the menu. This can be done by right clicking on the module item and selecting Remove.
