Logs

An administrator can check various key application logs. The different types of logs supported in MDO are: 

  • Email Logs 
  • Visitor History 
  • Login History 
  • Upload Logs 
  • Technical Logs

1.Email logs

Each email notification going through MDO can be tracked from the Email Logs section. This section keeps a track on all outgoing emails as well as messages which were sent via email. 

If due to any reason an email fails to be sent, the administrator can view the error log from this section. 

To view Email Logs, follow these steps: 

  1. Login with administrator credentials  
  2. Click on the Settings icon at top right corner on the Home page. 
  3. From the left menu bar, select  Advanced.  
  4. Select Logs > Email Logs. 

The Email Log page will display with the following details: 

Column  Details 
Send To  This column displays the email id of the recipient to whom the email was sent. 
Date Sent  This column captures the date and time at which the email was sent. 
Email Subject  This column shows the subject of the email. 
Status  This column displays the status of the email i.e. success or failed 
View Message  In this column you will find an i icon. Clicking on this icon will display the email content which was sent. 
Logs  In case the email does not get sent to the recipient, the administrator can view the reason for failure in this section. 

 

2.Visitor History 

In this section an administrator can keep track of activities performed by users in MDO. 

To view activity logs, follow these steps: 

  1. Login with administrator credentials  
  2. Click on the Settings icon at top right corner on the Home page. 
  3. From the left menu bar, select Advanced.  
  4. Select Logs > Visitor History. 

The Activity Log page will display with the following details: 

  • From DateThis is the filter option which can be used to filter logs based on date. From date is the start date of the filter. 
  • To DateThis is the filter option which can be used to filter logs based on date. To date is the end date of the filter. This option is by default set to the current date by MDO but can be changed. 
  • Search by name: This is a filter option used to filter data based on user id. 
  • Download Log: Administrator can download the visitor log into Excel format. 
Column  Details 
User ID  This column displays login id of user. 
Role  This column displayed the role assigned to the user. If user is assigned with multiple role then system will show the active role of user with which user is performing any task in the system. 
Date Time  This column displays date and time of the activity. 
Page  This column captures information on the section of MDO where user is performing any activity. 
Load type   
Module  This column displays the information regarding the Module on which user is working on. 
Object number  This column displays the record number on which user was working on. 

 

3.Login History

In this section administrator can keep track on the login history of users to MDO application. This section displays the login date and time along with log out date and time of the user. 

To view login history, follow these steps: 

  1. Login with administrator credentials  
  2. Click on the Settings icon at top right corner on the Home page. 
  3. From the left menu bar, select Advanced.  
  4. Select Logs > Login History. 

The Login History page will display with the following details:  

  • From DateThis is the filter option which can be used to filter logs based on date. From date is the start date of the filter. 
  • To DateThis is the filter option which can be used to filter logs based on date. To date is the end date of the filter. This option is by default set to the current date by MDO but can be changed. 
  • Search by userid: This is a filter option used to filter data based on user id. 
  • Download Log: Administrator can download the Login History log into Excel format. 
Column  Details 
User ID  This column displays login id of user. 
Name  This column displayed the name of the user. 
Date  This column displays the date on which the user logged in to system. 
Login Time  This column captures the login time of the user. 
Logout time  This column captures the logout time of the user. 
Status  This column shows the login status i.e. Success or failed. If user gets authenticated successfully then status will be success, if user authentication failed due to wrong login credentials then status is failed. 
Logout type  There can be two types of log outs: 

  1. Logout: which means user clicked on log out button to exit the system 
  1. Session: which means user session was timed out. 
Platform  This captures the information of the device or operating system from which the user logged in to MDO. 
Source Ip  This captures the ip address of the user who logged in or tried to login to MDO. 
Browser  This captures the information about the browser which user used to login to MDO. 
Country  This column captures the country in which user is located. 

4.Upload Logs 

Upload logs can be used by system administrator to view errors while uploading dropdown values and users. If due to any reason the system returnan error while uploading dropdowns, these errors can be viewed from the upload logs. 

To view upload logs, follow these steps: 

  1. Login with administrator credentials  
  2. Click on the Settings icon at top right corner on the Home page. 
  3. From the left menu bar, select Advanced.  
  4. Select Logs > Upload Logs. 

The Upload Logs page will display with the following details: 

Column  Details 
Upload Type  This column display information on the type of data uploaded i.e dropdown or users. 
Uploaded On  This column captures the data and time of data uploaded into MDO. 
Records Uploaded  This column shows the total number of records uploaded. 
Success Records  This column shows number of records successfully uploaded. 
Failed Records  This section shows number of records which failed to get uploaded. 
Download Logs  Administrator can download the log in case there are some failed records in the upload. 

 

5.Technical Logs 

The different types of technical logs supported in MDO are: 

  • Application Log
    • Application logs captures information about all activities carried out in the web application. 
  • Integration Log 
    • Integration logs captures information about all records that have been sent for integration with other systems. 
  • Transport Log 
    • Transport logs captures information about all package movements between MDO systems. 
  • Workflow Log 
    • Workflow logs capture information about all workflows that has been triggered in the application. 
  • API Log 
    • API logs capture information about all API’s triggered in the application. 
  • Server Log 
    • The server log will capture any and all other errors thrown by the application during runtime. 

To modify Technical log settings: 

  1. Login with administrator credentials  
  2. Click on the Settings from the left menu. 
  3. Select System Admin > Logs > Settings 

For each Technical log users can change the following: 

Field/Option  Details 
Log Level  Info – Information Log Level 

Warn – Warning Log Level 

Error- Error Log Level 

File Size in MB  Specify the maximum file size of the log file 
No of Backup Files  Specify the maximum number of backup log files kept 

 

To download Technical logs: 

  1. Login with administrator credentials  
  2. Click on the Settings from the left menu. 
  3. Select System Admin > Logs > Downloads
